Best Umrah Packages in the UK: Compare Top Deals for Pilgrims

The best Umrah packages in the UK aren’t always the cheapest. A strong deal is ATOL protected, includes your Nusuk permit, books you into a hotel you can walk to the Haram from, and quotes the price for the room you’ll sleep in. Outside peak dates, flight inclusive 7 night packages start from roughly £750 to £800 per person.

So why do two quotes for the same week look so different? Usually because they aren’t the same trip. One puts you 300 metres from King Abdulaziz Gate on a direct flight from Heathrow. The other is a shuttle ride away, routed through Istanbul, with four adults to a room. Both get sold as a “7 night 3 star package”.

How to Compare Umrah Deals Like for Like

Distance to the Haram beats star rating

Star ratings in Makkah don’t mean what they mean in Manchester. A 3 star hotel 250 metres from a gate will serve you better than a 5 star tower out on Hijra Road, because you’ll walk to Fajr instead of queuing for a shuttle before dawn. And you’ll make that walk five times a day, often in the heat and sometimes with an elderly parent beside you.

“Close to the Haram” can mean anything from a three minute stroll to a 25 minute trek, so get the distance in metres from the hotel entrance to the nearest gate, plus the gate’s name. For most pilgrims, somewhere between 200 and 500 metres is the sweet spot. Our walking distance guide for Makkah hotels breaks down walking times by zone, including how much longer each walk takes in Ramadan crowds.

The room sharing trap

Here’s the one that catches couples out. Many headline prices in the UK market are based on quad sharing, which means four adults in one room. That works well for a group of friends or a family of four. For a married couple wanting a double, the per person price can rise noticeably, sometimes by more than the gap between two hotel tiers.

One question settles it. Is this price for a quad, a triple or a double? Then compare every agent on that same answer.

Flights, routing and where you land

Direct flights from London to Jeddah or Madinah take around six to six and a half hours, while a connection through a Gulf or Turkish hub can eat most of a day each way. On a 7 night trip that hurts. Direct options from regional airports such as Manchester are more limited and vary by season, so weigh a local airport against an extra stop.

The arrival city matters too. Flying into Madinah and home from Jeddah, which is how our packages run, means you visit Madinah first and enter ihram at the miqat on the road to Makkah rather than on the plane.

Is the Nusuk permit actually included?

Every pilgrim needs an Umrah permit booked through Nusuk, the official platform of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. A proper package arranges your entry permit, your Nusuk registration and help with booking your Rawdah slot in Madinah. Bare “flight and hotel” bundles usually leave the Nusuk side to you. During Ramadan, when slots fill fast, that can leave you without one.

ATOL means the certificate, not the logo

Any UK company selling flight inclusive packages must hold an ATOL, and you should receive an ATOL certificate the moment you pay anything, deposit included. A logo on a website proves very little. Search the company’s name and number on the Civil Aviation Authority’s ATOL register, then check that name matches the business taking your money. Trading names and licence holders don’t always line up, and that gap is where people lose money.

Paying your deposit by credit card adds a second layer. Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act covers purchases costing over £100 and up to £30,000, even if only part of the payment goes on the card.

Umrah Package Prices from the UK for 2026 and 2027

Here are our current published starting prices per person, so you have a benchmark rather than a vague range.

Package tier 7 nights 10 nights 14 nights Best suited to
3 star from £765 from £815 from £995 First time pilgrims who’ll spend most of the day in the Haram
4 star from £795 from £895 from £1,024 Families who need more space in the room
5 star from £975 from £1,075 from £1,175 Pilgrims who want extra comfort and hotel facilities

Prices are correct as of October 2026 and move with travel dates, availability and room type, so ask which room basis applies when you request a quote, or see full inclusions on our Umrah packages page.

A couple of things jump out. Moving from 3 star to 4 star on a 7 night trip costs just £30 per person, often worth it for a family spending time in the room. Going from 7 to 10 nights at 3 star adds only £50, which is why we steer most pilgrims towards 10 nights. Stretch to 14 and you pay £230 more than the 7 night trip, roughly £33 a night for an extra week in the holy cities.

Timing Moves the Price More Than the Hotel

Upgrading a 7 night trip from 3 star to 5 star outside Ramadan costs £210. Travelling in Ramadan instead, on our 7 night package from £1,049, costs £284 more than the cheapest 7 night option. Put another way, a standard 14 night 5 star trip from £1,175 is only £126 dearer than a week in Ramadan. When you travel is the biggest price factor you control.

Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 7 or 8 February, subject to moon sighting, and February half term falls in its first fortnight for most schools in England. Half term dates and the last ten nights both tend to sell out months ahead. Saudi authorities also stop Umrah entry several weeks before Hajj, which in 2027 is likely to affect travel from mid March onwards, so confirm the cutoff before you book any dates after Ramadan.

Christmas school holidays are another peak, and December flights often sell out by early autumn. September to November is usually calmer and cheaper. Summer costs least of all, but Makkah regularly passes 40°C, which is hard going for older pilgrims and young children alike.

Not Travelling on a British Passport?

Plenty of UK Muslims hold indefinite leave to remain alongside a Pakistani, Bangladeshi or Indian passport. Your entry permit route can differ from a British passport holder’s. Depending on your nationality and residence status, you may use the same online route or need an agent licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to apply for you. Mention your passport on the first call, because it affects documents, timings and sometimes price.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a good Umrah package from the UK cost?

Expect to pay from about £750 to £1,200 per person for a 7 to 14 night package with flights, hotels and transfers outside Ramadan. Ramadan, school holidays and double rooms push that higher. Always compare quotes on the same room type, hotel distance and flight routing before deciding which is better value.

Is a 3 star Umrah package good enough?

For most pilgrims, yes, provided the hotel sits close to the Haram. You’ll spend most of your waking hours in the mosque rather than your room. Check the walking distance in metres and whether breakfast is included, then decide whether the extra space of a 4 star room is worth it.

Which months are cheapest for Umrah from the UK?

Summer is usually the cheapest time, followed by September to November. Heat in Makkah regularly passes 40°C in summer, so autumn suits most families and older pilgrims far better. Ramadan and the main UK school holidays are the most expensive periods to travel, and they sell out earliest.

Is 7 nights enough for Umrah?

Seven nights is enough to complete Umrah and spend time in Madinah, but it can feel rushed for first timers. Ten nights gives you five in each city and time to recover from the journey. With us, those three extra nights add around £50 per person at 3 star level.

Before You Pay a Deposit

Take two or three quotes and line them up on distance, room basis, flights and permits. Once they’re side by side, the right choice is usually obvious. Whoever you book with, check their ATOL first. Aqdas Travel holds ATOL licence 12834 and is registered with Companies House under number 16187110.
