Beat My Price, Explained Properly
Every Umrah agency in Britain says they'll beat any price. Have you ever seen one publish the terms?
We haven't either. And that's the bit that should bother you, because a price promise with no conditions attached is just a slogan. It costs nothing to print.
So here's how ours works, in full, on this page. Send us whatever quote you've been given. We read it properly, compare it against what we can arrange for the same dates, and come back to you with one of two answers. Either we beat it, or we explain precisely why the two figures aren't measuring the same trip.
That second answer happens more often than you'd think. A quote can look three hundred pounds cheaper and still cost you more once you've paid for baggage, a taxi five times a day and a room you're sharing with two strangers.
Everything we quote comes from the same contracted hotels and the same ground team behind our published Umrah package prices from the UK. What changes here is that you set the shape of the trip, and we check your competing quote honestly before anybody commits.
Three Steps
No obligation at any point. Most of the quotes we check never turn into bookings, and that's fine.
Email the quote, WhatsApp a photo of it, or paste the numbers into the form. Whatever's easiest. We also need your side of it: your dates, how many are travelling and anything that isn't negotiable. A fixed week of leave, a parent who can't walk far, a ceiling you won't go above. Constraints help us more than preferences do.
This is where a consultant does the work rather than a calculator. We pull live hotel rates and flight availability for your exact dates, then check their quote against six specific things that quietly move the price. Room occupancy. Actual hotel distance. Baggage. Transfers. The permit fee. ATOL status. Those six explain almost every gap we see.
Either we beat the figure, or we show you the gap and let you decide. Sometimes the honest answer is that their price is genuinely better and you should take it. We've said that plenty of times. It costs us a booking and it's still the right call, because a pilgrim who feels misled never comes back anyway.
Read This Before Comparing Anything
Learn these and you can audit any quote yourself, including ours. That's rather the point.
The single biggest gap, and the one almost nobody spots. A quad room price looks spectacular next to a twin. Four adults in one room is a very different fortnight from two, particularly if you're travelling with in laws or teenagers. Check what occupancy the number assumes before you compare anything else.
Typical swing: £200 to £400 per personWalking distance means nothing. It is not a measurement. We have seen hotels described that way sitting nearly two kilometres out, which in July is the difference between praying at the Haram and watching it on your room telly. Ask for the hotel name, then check it on a map yourself before you pay.
Typical swing: £150 to £350 per personHand luggage only fares get quoted as though they're normal. They aren't, not for a pilgrimage where you're carrying Ihram, gifts and a fortnight of clothes. Adding 23kg at the airport costs a fortune. Indirect routings with long layovers also price lower, and nobody mentions the eleven hours in Istanbul.
Typical swing: £80 to £200 per personRead the wording closely. Airport transfer included might mean one way. Transfers included might cover Jeddah to Makkah but leave the Makkah to Madinah leg out, which is a four hour journey you'll then pay for separately. Ziyarah transport is frequently extra too, quoted on the ground once you've arrived.
Typical swing: £60 to £180 per personNusuk permit processing gets stripped out of headline prices fairly often, then appears later as an administration charge. Ask directly whether the figure you've been quoted includes the permit for every traveller, children included. If the answer is vague, treat that as the answer.
Typical swing: £50 to £120 per personAn operator without an ATOL licence carries none of the cost of holding one, so of course they can quote lower. What you're buying with that saving is risk. If they fold between your deposit and your departure, there's nothing behind you. Ask for the licence number and check it on the CAA register. It takes a minute.
Worth every penny of the differenceNone of this is an argument against shopping around. Compare away, genuinely. Just compare the same trip. If you want the detail on what separates hotel tiers in practice, our breakdown of what actually changes between 3, 4 and 5 star Umrah hotels covers it, and how trip length affects what you get handles the other half of the equation.
Our Terms, In Full
Published here rather than mentioned after you've sent your details. You can judge the promise before you act on it.
One thing we want to be clear about. Beat My Price is not a guarantee that we are the cheapest operator in Britain, and no honest agency can promise that. Some operators hold large allocations in specific Makkah buildings and will genuinely price below us in those properties. When that happens we say so and tell you to book with them.
What we are promising is a proper comparison and a straight answer. Where your quote is genuinely like for like and we can improve on it, we will. Where we cannot, you will know exactly why rather than being talked round it.
Build It Your Way
There is no charge for building a package to your own specification. What moves the price is what you actually ask for, and a quiet month with a Madinah heavy split frequently lands below the standard Umrah packages we sell at fixed prices. Custom builds start from £765 per person with deposits from £99.
Any departure day, any number of nights. Annual leave rarely lands in neat blocks of seven or ten, so there is no sense paying for a trip built around somebody else's calendar. Nine nights? Thirteen? Both fine.
Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, wherever suits. We price more than one where it is worth doing, because regional fares and London fares move independently of each other.
Most packages weight Makkah heavily and for most pilgrims that's right. Repeat visitors often want the reverse. Tell us the balance you want and the hotel nights get built around it.
You don't have to buy the same tier twice. Four star in Makkah where the walking is punishing, three star in Madinah where the ground is flat and open. One of the most effective savings going.
Connecting rooms for families, adjacent rooms for a group, separate arrivals where somebody is flying in from abroad. Children priced properly by age rather than lumped in as adults.
Deposit from £99, then a balance schedule we agree with you rather than impose. Group bookings get staged payments so no single family carries the whole weight at once.
Plenty of pilgrims do, whether on Avios, staff rates or a fare they found themselves at two in the morning. We build the ground arrangements around the tickets you already hold, timed to your actual landing. Our land only Umrah arrangements cover that route specifically, including a straight explanation of what protection applies when there are no flights in the booking.
And if you would rather we simply built something from scratch without a competing quote in play, our tailored Umrah service does exactly that. Flexible on dates? Departures across the full calendar shows where the quiet months sit, and they are usually where the money is.
When We'll Tell You to Book Elsewhere
It happens. An operator with a big allocation in one particular Makkah tower can price inside that building in a way we can't match, and no amount of negotiating changes the maths.
When we see that, we say so.
What we won't do is match a number by quietly changing what sits underneath it. Moving you from a twin to a triple. Shifting the hotel four hundred metres further out. Dropping the checked bag. Taking Ziyarah off the list. All of those would let us hit your figure, and all of them mean you've paid less for less without being told.
The pilgrims who've been with us longest are usually the ones we talked out of something at least once. That's not a sales line, it's just how trust gets built in a business where everyone promises the same thing.
Named hotels with a distance stated in metres. Occupancy spelled out. Flight numbers and baggage allowance. A line confirming the Nusuk permit is included for every traveller. Which transfers are covered. And the ATOL number. A quote carrying all six can be compared in ten minutes. A quote missing three of them cannot be compared at all, which is sometimes the point.
