Astronomical calculations point to Ramadan 1448 beginning on the evening of Sunday 7 February 2027, with the first fast on Monday 8 February. Eid al Fitr is expected around 9 to 10 March. That places the last ten nights at the very end of February running into early March. Every one of those dates is subject to the sighting of the crescent moon and can shift by a day, so we plan Ramadan bookings with a small buffer rather than treating the calculated date as fixed.

Generally no, and this is the single most useful thing to know when planning a 2027 trip. Hajj 1448 is expected to fall around 14 to 19 May, with the Day of Arafah on or near 15 May. Saudi authorities normally restrict Umrah permits for a period in the weeks leading up to Hajj and through the pilgrimage itself, with the exact cutoff announced by the Ministry each season rather than fixed in advance. Treat late April through to the end of May as unreliable and build your dates either side of it.

Our 2027 packages start from £765 per person for 7 nights, with 10 night and 14 night options above that. The figure moves with three things: the month you travel, how close to the Haram you want your hotel, and how far ahead you book. Ramadan and the school holidays sit well above the lead in price. January, the second half of April and the summer months sit below it.

For Ramadan 2027, particularly the last ten nights, book by autumn 2026 if you possibly can. Hotels closest to the Haram are contracted a long way ahead and the nearest ones go first, whatever you are willing to pay later. For quieter months such as January, April or the autumn, three to five months ahead is usually enough. Booking early is not only about price. It decides whether you get a hotel you can actually walk to.

June through to August will be cheapest, because Makkah is at its hottest and demand falls away. January and the second half of April also offer good value with far more comfortable weather, which is why we suggest them most often to families. The most expensive windows will be February into early March for Ramadan, and the school holiday periods where family demand lifts fares regardless of season.

You need a valid Umrah visa, which we process for you through the approved Nusuk channels as part of every package. Since October 2025 the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has required pilgrims to enter the Kingdom within 30 days of the visa being issued, after which it is cancelled automatically. That timing matters considerably more on a trip booked a year ahead, so we submit the application at the right point in your schedule rather than the moment you pay a deposit.

Yes. A deposit from £99 holds your booking and we agree the balance schedule with you at the outset. For group and family bookings we set staged payments so nobody has to find the full amount in one go. Your ATOL certificate under licence 12834 is issued when the deposit is paid, not when the balance clears, so your money is protected from that first payment onward.

It is a real possibility and we plan around it rather than pretending otherwise. Ramadan can begin a day earlier or later than calculated, which matters enormously if you are travelling specifically for the last ten nights. Where availability allows we build a night of margin into Ramadan itineraries, and we tell you honestly at booking stage whether your dates sit tight against the expected calendar or have room in them.
