We'll be straight with you. Our shopfront isn't in East Ham itself, it's in Manor Park, ten minutes north along the same road. That's still close enough that you can drop in on a Saturday without it being an expedition, and it's a great deal closer than the agencies advertising to you from other parts of the country.

Why does a physical office matter so much? Because the Umrah scams that have hurt families across Newham follow the same pattern every time. Money paid to a mobile number. No written confirmation. No ATOL certificate. And nobody to find when the flights never materialise.

The London City Question

Your Closest Airport
Is Not Your Umrah Airport

Let's clear this up first, because it comes up in almost every East Ham conversation we have.

London City sits roughly twenty minutes away. District or Hammersmith and City line to West Ham or Canning Town, then the DLR. It's genuinely the most convenient airport in London for anyone living in E6. And it is no use whatsoever for Umrah, because no carrier operates from there to Jeddah or Madinah. The runway is short, the route network is built around European business travel, and Saudi Arabia has never been part of it.

So where are you actually flying from? Heathrow, most of the time. Saudia runs direct services to both Jeddah and Madinah, and a direct flight is worth a great deal when you're travelling with elderly parents or young children who won't cope well with a 2am connection in a foreign terminal.

Getting there from East Ham is one change and never leaves the Underground. District line west to Barons Court, then straight onto the Piccadilly line into Heathrow. If you'd rather have no change at all, hop north to Manor Park and take the Elizabeth line, which runs direct to every terminal. For some dates a Turkish Airlines routing from Stansted genuinely prices better, and we'll tell you when that's the case rather than pushing Heathrow by default.

Heathrow District line to Barons Court, then Piccadilly line Saudia direct to Jeddah and Madinah. One change, never leaving the Underground. Our first recommendation for most East Ham families.
Stansted District line to Liverpool Street, then Stansted Express Turkish Airlines via Istanbul. Often the cheaper option outside peak season, at the cost of a connection.
Gatwick District line to Farringdon area, then Thameslink south Useful for certain indirect fares and for spring availability when Heathrow prices climb sharply.
London City 20 minutes via DLR from West Ham or Canning Town Your nearest airport, but no flights to Saudi Arabia. Not usable for Umrah, whatever the convenience.

Journey times shift with time of day and weekend engineering works, and the District line is not immune to either. We confirm your route and the time to leave home when we issue your itinerary, so nobody is checking a journey planner at 4am on departure day.

Masjid and Community Group Departures

A group leader comes in, we agree a departure window, and we hold rooms while members confirm one at a time. Groups from around Masjid Ibrahim and across East Ham travel together every year, and going as a party takes most of the fear out of a first Umrah. Payment stages get agreed at the start so nobody is chased. One piece of advice we give every group leader: start Ramadan planning in autumn, not spring. The hotels closest to the Haram are contracted a long way ahead and the good ones go first.

Sending Parents on Their First Umrah

This is the booking we take most often from E6, and it deserves care rather than a sales script. Adult children come in to arrange travel for parents who may not fly often and may not speak fluent English. We look at hotel distance honestly, because a walk that reads as short on paper is a different matter in August heat for someone in their seventies. Wheelchair assistance, ground floor rooms and a guide who speaks Urdu, Bengali or Gujarati can all be arranged. Just ask.

Families Travelling in the School Holidays

Easter, October half term and the summer break dominate family bookings across Newham, and the prices reflect exactly that. If your dates are locked by school, book far earlier than feels necessary. If you have any flexibility, we will show you what the same package costs a fortnight either side, and the gap is often larger than people expect. Connecting rooms near the Haram are limited, so secure them at deposit stage rather than hoping.

Working Around a Non British Passport

East Ham has one of the most internationally rooted Muslim communities in London, and a great many pilgrims here hold an Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi or Sri Lankan passport alongside UK residence. Nusuk processing times differ and the document set is not identical. This is completely routine for us, but only when we know at the first conversation rather than a fortnight before departure. Tell us upfront and we build the correct timeline into your dates.

Also Serving Upton Park, Beckton and Barking

East Ham is where a large share of our walk in bookings originate, but Romford Road pulls traffic from the whole borough and beyond. Upton Park is a few minutes west, Beckton sits south along the A13 corridor, and Barking is a straight run east. If you are coming by car, the side streets off Romford Road are manageable outside school pick up hours.

Once you are happy, £99 secures the booking and your ATOL certificate under licence 12834 is issued straight away. Pay at the office or over the phone, whichever you prefer. The balance follows on a schedule we agree with you, and for group bookings we set staged payments so no one family has to find the whole amount at once.

We Handle the Permit and Paperwork

Bring your passports and vaccination certificates and we take it from there. We check validity, photograph specifications and your MenACWY certificate before submitting anything, because those three things cause nearly every delay we see. You get your itinerary, hotel confirmations and airport timings ahead of travel, plus a number to call while you are away.
