Health Considerations
Many elderly pilgrims have particular health conditions that require additional thought at the planning stage. We have helped thousands of senior pilgrims with a wide range of needs complete Umrah safely and comfortably.
If you use a wheelchair or walking aid, you can still perform Umrah fully. The Tawaf and Sa'i can both be completed by wheelchair on designated paths. Our group leader coordinates Saudi wheelchair services at both holy mosques so there is no waiting time when you arrive.
Pilgrims managing diabetes should speak with their GP before travelling and carry sufficient medication, testing equipment, and a doctor's letter. Saudi Arabia is strict about what enters the country β we advise every elderly pilgrim on exactly what documentation to prepare.
Pilgrims with pacemakers or a cardiac history should obtain medical clearance from their cardiologist before booking. Carrying a medical card confirming your device is strongly recommended. We help you prepare the right documentation for travel and Saudi entry.
Pilgrims who have had hip, knee, or other joint replacements should get surgical clearance before travelling. Once cleared, Umrah is very manageable. We plan walking distances carefully and use wheelchair assistance to minimise physical strain.
