Why February Actually Makes Sense for Your Umrah
The Weather Doesn’t Hate You
Let me paint you a picture. It’s February in Makkah. Morning Fajr is cool and pleasant—maybe 12-15°C. By midday, it’s warm but comfortable, around 22-25°C. You can walk between your hotel and the Haram without arriving drenched in sweat. You can do Sa’i between Safa and Marwah without questioning all your life choices.
Compare that to summer (June-August) when it hits 45°C+, or even Ramadan which can be scorching. In February, you actually want to be outside. You can explore Makkah, visit the historical sites, walk around Madinah’s streets—all without collapsing from heat exhaustion.
Fewer People = Better Worship
I’m not going to sugarcoat it—Umrah during peak times can feel like a test of patience rather than a spiritual journey. The Haram gets packed. Tawaf becomes a slow shuffle. Finding a spot for Sa’i requires strategic planning.
February is different. Don’t get me wrong, the Haram is never empty, but there’s space. You can actually see the Kaaba properly during Tawaf. You can pause between your circuits if you need to. You can find a spot for dua without someone’s elbow in your ribs. That breathing room? It’s priceless for your spiritual experience.
Your Money Goes Further
Let’s talk numbers because this matters to most people:
Same package, different months:
- July/August (off-peak): £750-900
- February (sweet spot): £795-1,100
- Ramadan (peak): £1,500-2,200
- December holidays: £1,200-1,600
February sits in that perfect middle ground. You’re not paying summer bargain-basement prices (which often come with their own compromises), but you’re also not getting gouged like during Ramadan or school holidays.
For families especially, this can be the difference between going or not going. The £400-600 per person you save by choosing February over Ramadan? That’s money you can spend on better hotels, extra days, or charity in Makkah.
Flights Are Actually Available
Ramadan flights from the UK? You need to book 6-8 months in advance, and even then you’re looking at connecting flights through Istanbul or Dubai because directs are gone. February? You can book 2-3 months ahead and still get decent options, sometimes even directs from London or Manchester.
Plus, with schools back in session, families aren’t scrambling for the same flights. Less competition = better prices and better flight times.

Ten nights gives you breathing room. You can do your Umrah early in the trip, then spend the rest of your time in proper worship without rushing. You can visit the cave of Hira, explore Madinah’s historical sites, pray in different areas of both Harams.
The 4-star hotels make a difference too—better location (less walking), nicer rooms, usually better breakfast. Is it worth the extra £100? If you value comfort and convenience, definitely. More details on our 4-star packages page.

Two weeks is what I’d call the “complete experience.” You’re not watching the clock. You can pray all five prayers in the Haram for multiple days. You can visit every historical site without military precision planning. Your parents or grandparents can rest properly between activities.
The 5-star hotels? You’re literally minutes from the Haram. Some rooms have Kaaba views. The service is professional. The food is good. It matters when you’re spending two weeks somewhere. See all premium options on our 5-star packages.
February Family Package – 12 Nights (Special)
From £850 per person
Family-focused features:
- 6 nights each city
- Family rooms available (sleeps 4-5)
- Child-friendly hotels with connecting rooms
- Flexible meal options
- Stroller-accessible routes planned
- Childcare advice and support
- Kid-friendly Ziyarah tours
Why families love this:
Let’s be real—travelling with kids to Makkah isn’t the same as a romantic getaway. You need different things. Connecting rooms so parents can have some privacy. Hotels that don’t charge you extra for babies. Staff who don’t lose their minds if your toddler cries in the lobby.
We’ve done the homework on which hotels are genuinely family-friendly (not just claiming to be). We know which ones have proper family rooms, which restaurants nearby do decent kids’ meals, which Ziyarah operators are patient with children.
February is brilliant for families because:
- No school term conflicts (half-term usually ends mid-Feb)
- Weather won’t exhaust your kids
- Less crowded = easier to manage children
- Better value = you can afford the family room upgrade

Ramadan:
- ✅ Blessed month, rewards multiplied

February:
- ✅ Affordable (£795-1,100)

February:
- ✅ Same weather benefits

Verdict: February is basically December without the holiday tax.
February vs. Summer (June-Aug)
Summer:
- ✅ Cheapest time (£700-850)
- ❌ Brutally hot (40-48°C)

Common Questions About February Umrah
“Is February actually quiet or are you just saying that?”
I’ll be straight with you—it’s not empty. The Haram is never empty. But compared to Ramadan (absolute chaos), December holidays (busy), or even March/April (school Easter holidays), February is noticeably quieter. You can do Tawaf without feeling like you’re in a rugby scrum.
“What if the weather is bad?”
February weather in Makkah is pretty reliable. Rain is rare and usually light. I’ve sent hundreds of groups in February over the years—weather has almost never been an issue. That said, we can’t control the weather. If it rains, you wait it out (usually 30-60 minutes) and carry on.
“Can I extend my stay in February?”
Yes, but it’ll cost extra. Each additional night is £40-60 per person depending on hotel category. Just tell us when booking and we’ll price it up.
“My employer won’t give me two weeks off. Can I do 7 nights?”
Absolutely. Our 7-night package exists for exactly this reason. It’s tight but doable. You’ll do your Umrah, spend time at both Harams, and fly back. Not as relaxed as 10-14 nights, but better than not going at all.
“Are February packages family-friendly?”
Very. The weather is perfect for kids—not too hot, not cold. The crowds are manageable, which helps when you’re corralling children. Hotels are more accommodating because they’re not at full capacity. We can arrange connecting rooms, help with meal options, all of it.
Full family guidance on our family packages page.
“What’s the difference between February and March?”
March starts getting busier as schools approach Easter holidays (late March/early April). Prices begin creeping up mid-March. February is the calm before that storm. If you can go in February instead of March, do it.
“Do I need vaccinations?”
Yes—Meningitis ACWY is mandatory. Book it at your GP surgery at least 2 weeks before travel. Some surgeries charge (£30-60), some provide it free on NHS. Also recommended: COVID booster if you’re eligible, flu jab if you’re elderly.
“Can I book February 2026 now?”
Not yet. We release next year’s packages around September/October. But you can register your interest and we’ll contact you the moment February 2026 opens for booking.

Why Book February with Aqdas Travel?
Look, I could list a bunch of corporate reasons here about “excellence” and “commitment” and all that. But let me give you the real reasons:
We’ve been doing this for 15+ years. We’ve seen every problem that can happen with Umrah travel. Flight delays, lost luggage, Travel Formalities hiccups, hotel overbookings—we’ve fixed it all. You’re not our experiment; you’re joining thousands who’ve already been through this process with us.
We’re ATOL protected (12834). Your money is safe. If something catastrophic happens to our company, the government steps in and protects your booking. That’s not marketing—that’s actual legal protection.
We answer the phone. Try calling other agencies on a Sunday evening or during a crisis. Good luck. Our UK team is available 7 days a week. If you’re in Makkah at 3am panicking about something, someone picks up.
We don’t oversell. Some agencies pack people into quad rooms and call it “affordable.” We’re upfront about room configurations. If it’s a shared room, we tell you. If there’s a supplement for privacy, we tell you the exact cost.
February is our specialty. We know which hotels have availability, which flights are best value, which week of February is optimal. We’ve refined this over years of sending people in February specifically.
